Public guides

Understand the platform before choosing a build path

These guides are written for customers, partners, and project owners. They explain what LifeRaft OS does, where it fits, how add-ons work together, what should be ready before implementation begins, and how self-hosted security responsibility is shared.

Implementation Readiness

A LifeRaft OS build is more than uploading files. The successful projects usually have a clear launch purpose, a defined member path, and a realistic plan for content, permissions, support, and maintenance.

This guide explains what a customer should have ready before implementation starts.

1. Define The First Audience

Start with the people who need the site first. Examples:

  • Existing customers who need support, docs, downloads, or updates.
  • Early members joining a private community or beta.
  • Creators, contributors, staff, moderators, or partners.
  • Buyers who need a product hub before or after purchase.

The first audience determines which pages, forums, roles, permissions, and add-ons should be configured first.

2. Decide The Public Front Door

LifeRaft OS can open as a marketing-style landing page, a forum, a member hub, a profile, a docs area, an add-on portal, or a custom route.

A public launch usually needs:

  • A simple explanation of what the community or portal is.
  • A clear action such as join, request access, browse add-ons, view packages, or contact.
  • A visible path to support, docs, updates, or community activity.
  • Enough structure that new visitors understand where they are.

3. Plan Member Access

Before launch, decide who can register, who needs approval, which roles exist, and which areas are public, members-only, staff-only, client-only, or private.

For sensitive projects, pair roles with agreement workflows. RLX NDA can require members to accept NDA, beta, contributor, client, or private-access terms before reaching specific routes, funnels, resources, or project areas.

4. Prepare Content And Workflows

The platform gives the structure, but the project still needs real content:

  • Forum categories and starter topics.
  • Public pages, support notes, FAQs, or docs.
  • Package descriptions, product notes, or resource listings.
  • Contact paths, intake forms, waitlists, or funnels.
  • Staff/moderation expectations.

Empty states are useful during setup, but production pages should explain the customer workflow clearly.

5. Confirm Operations

Before going live, review hosting, backups, writable paths, email, HTTPS, admin accounts, active add-ons, and theme behavior. Licensed operator docs include deeper deployment and maintenance details.

The public takeaway is simple: LifeRaft OS is built for owned, modular growth, but a strong launch still needs a clear audience, a clear first workflow, and a small set of add-ons chosen for a real purpose.

Add-on Library

Product workflows that plug into the core

Each add-on page explains what the module helps a customer do, when it fits, and which related modules make it stronger. The catalog is meant to help buyers plan a practical build, not read internal developer notes.
